Privacy Policy

This page explains what we know about you, why we know it, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose.

Last updated 27 August 2026 Applies to this website and all 5 campuses Written in plain English

The short version

  • We collect what we need to teach you, examine you and certify you. Nothing beyond that.
  • We have never sold personal information, and we will not. Your number is not passed to any other institute or advertiser.
  • Anyone holding your certificate number can confirm the certificate is genuine. That is the point of it.
  • You may ask to see, correct or delete what we hold, at any time, free of charge.

This summary is here to save you time. The sections below are the policy itself.

Who we are

IICT Computer Institute is a computer training institute in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, run by SKL Education Welfare Society (Regd. under Act 1860). We teach at 5 campuses, and our head office is at 1065 Roorkee Road, South Rampuri, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh 251002.

In this policy, we, us and our mean the institute. You means anyone whose information we hold: a student, a parent or guardian, a former student, or a visitor to this website.

This policy covers the information we collect through this website and the information we collect at our campuses, because in practice the two are the same record.

Information you give us

Almost everything we hold is something you handed to us yourself.

  • Enquiries - your name, phone number, email address if you give one, the course and campus you asked about, and whatever you wrote in your message.
  • Admission - full name, name of a parent or guardian, date of birth, address, photographs, previous education, and a copy of one identity document so that the name on your certificate can be relied upon.
  • Payments - the amount, the date, the mode of payment and the receipt number. We never store a card number, a UPI PIN or a bank password.
  • Certificate checks - the certificate number and date of birth typed into our verification page.
  • Conversations - WhatsApp chats, calls and emails between you and our staff, kept as a record of what was asked and what was agreed.
  • Reviews - your name, your course and the words you write, if you choose to give us a review.

Please do not send documents we have not asked for. If an identity document reaches us by chat when it was not needed, we will ask you to delete it from your side and we will delete our copy.

Information collected automatically

When you open this website, our server writes down ordinary technical details: the network address you came from, the browser and device you used, the pages you opened and the time you opened them. Every website does this, and it is how a site stays available and how abuse is spotted.

  • A session cookie and a security token are set so that forms work and cannot be misused. These are essential and cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
  • There are no advertising cookies, no social media pixels and no cross site trackers on this website.
  • If a visitor analytics tool is added in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live and this section will name the tool.

Why we use your information

  • To answer your enquiry and tell you the current fee for the course you asked about.
  • To complete your admission, give you an enrollment number, place you in a batch and issue receipts.
  • To register you with an examination or awarding body, where the course requires it.
  • To issue your certificate, and to let an employer or a college confirm later that it is genuine.
  • To tell you about your classes, examinations, results and campus notices.
  • To keep the academic, attendance and accounting records we are required to keep.
  • To protect the website, our records and our students from misuse and fraud.

We do not build advertising profiles, we do not run advertisements on this website, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Certificate verification is public by design

Our verification page exists so that anyone holding your certificate can confirm it is real. A person who enters a valid certificate number together with the matching date of birth will see the name on the certificate, the course, the campus, the date of issue, and whether the certificate is active, revoked or reissued.

This is deliberate, and it works in your favour: a certificate that cannot be checked is worth very little to an employer. Two things keep it safe. The person must already hold your certificate number, and the number of attempts from one place is limited so that nobody can walk through numbers one after another.

  • Every verification attempt is logged with the time and the network address it came from.
  • Nothing is ever shown beyond what is already printed on the certificate itself.
  • If you believe your certificate number is being misused, tell us. We can revoke it and reissue the certificate with a new number.

If the student is under eighteen

Many of our students are still at school. Where a student is under eighteen, the admission details are taken from a parent or guardian, and that parent or guardian gives consent on behalf of the student.

  • A parent or guardian may see, correct or ask us to delete everything we hold about their child.
  • We do not track children across websites, and we never show them advertising.
  • We will not publish a photograph in which a child can be recognised without asking the parent or guardian first.

This follows the additional protection that the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives to children in India.

Photographs, video and our gallery

We photograph classes, examinations, prize days and campus events. Some of those photographs appear in our gallery, on our social media pages, and in printed material such as pamphlets.

  • We ask before publishing a photograph in which a person can be recognised.
  • You may refuse. Refusing changes nothing about your course, your batch or your certificate.
  • You may change your mind later. Tell us, and we will remove the photograph from this website and from our social media pages, normally within seven working days.

Printed material that has already been handed out cannot be recalled, so if you would prefer not to be photographed at all, please tell the campus before the event.

WhatsApp, calls and messages

Most of our conversations happen on WhatsApp, because that is what people here prefer.

  • Messages you send us travel through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy policy, not ours.
  • We keep the conversation as part of your enquiry or admission record.
  • We send messages about classes, examinations, results, fees and campus notices. We do not sell your number and we do not use it for any other business.
  • Reply STOP at any time and we will take you off everything that is not essential to your course.

We will never ask you to send a fee to a personal UPI number over chat. If a message asks you to do that, it did not come from us. Call the campus and check before paying anything.

Who else can see your information

Your information stays inside the institute, except in the situations listed here. This list is complete.

  • Our own staff - the staff of your campus and of the head office. Campus staff can open the records of their own campus only, because the system restricts them to it.
  • Examination and awarding bodies - for courses certified by an outside body, your name, date of birth and course are registered with that body. Without this you cannot be examined or certified.
  • Service providers - the company that hosts this website, and the services that carry our email and messages. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for anything of their own.
  • Banks and payment channels - when a payment is made electronically, it passes through your bank and ours.
  • Government and law enforcement - where a law, a court, or a lawful written order requires it, and only to the extent required.
  • Professional advisers - our auditor or lawyer, where they need it to do their work.

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent mailing lists. We do not pass your number to other coaching institutes, and we do not share student records with advertisers.

How long we keep your information

We do not keep information simply because storage is cheap. Each kind has a life.

  • Enquiries that did not lead to admission - up to two years, then deleted.
  • Admission and academic records - for as long as your certificate must remain verifiable, which we treat as permanent. A certificate you cannot prove in twenty years is not a certificate.
  • Receipts and accounts - for the period our auditor and tax law require, currently eight years.
  • Website and server logs - up to twelve months.
  • Certificate verification logs - up to twelve months.
  • Photographs - until you ask us to remove them.

When a period ends, electronic records are deleted and paper forms are shredded.

How we protect your information

  • This website is served over an encrypted connection.
  • Every member of staff signs in with their own account and sees only what their role allows. A campus account cannot open another campus record.
  • Certificate lookups are rate limited, which stops automated guessing.
  • Paper admission forms and document copies are kept in locked storage at the campus.
  • Staff are instructed never to forward a student document outside the institute.

No system is perfectly safe, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you what happened, what it means for you, and what we are doing about it, and we will inform the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Your rights, and how to use them

These rights are real, they cost nothing, and you do not need to give a reason.

  • See it - ask for a summary of the personal information we hold about you, and who we have shared it with.
  • Correct it - have a wrong spelling, date of birth or address put right. Please do this before your certificate is printed, because a printed certificate has to be revoked and reissued.
  • Complete it - add anything that is missing from your record.
  • Erase it - ask us to delete information we no longer need, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
  • Withdraw consent - for messages and for photographs, at any time.
  • Nominate someone - name a person who may exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to act.
  • Complain - to our Grievance Officer first, and to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not put it right.

Write, call, or come to the campus. We may ask you to prove who you are before we change or reveal anything, so that nobody else can alter your record. We answer within thirty days.

Links to other websites

This website links to Google Maps, to WhatsApp, and to the websites of examination bodies. Once you follow such a link you are on a website we do not control, and their privacy policy applies instead of this one. We suggest reading it before you enter personal details there.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practice changes or when the law changes. The date shown at the top is the date of the version you are reading.

If a change is significant, we will also put a notice on the website and on the notice board at each campus, so that a change is never made quietly.

Applicable law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of it is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Grievance Officer

A question about your information? Ask a person, not a form.

Write, call, or walk into the head office. Tell us what you want to see, correct or delete, and we will reply within thirty days. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may take the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.
